IGS – Indian Coast Guard – Fresher Diploma (Engineers) Jobs – Yantrik – Training Commencing – February 2013


Applications are invited from unmarried male Indian nationals possessing educational qualification and age, as prescribed below, for recruitment to the post of Yantrik in the Indian Coast Guard, an Armed Force of the Union.
Name of the Post : Yantrik – Trainee
Educational Qualification : Matriculate and three years Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic Engg. recognised by AICTE with 60% marks in aggregate.
Age Limit : Born between 01 Feb 91 to 31 Jan 95 ( Relaxation – SC/ST – 5 years ; OBC – 3 years)
Pay, Perks and other benefits : (i) Total approx emolument works out to be approx Rs. 17,000/- including Dearness Allowance, Kit Maintenance Allowance and other liberal allowances as  admissible. In addition there is free ration/ clothing/medical treatment for self and family and Govt. accommodation.  (ii) 45 days E/L & 08 days C/L every year with LTC, as per Govt. rules.  Insurance cover of Rs.20 Lakhs, Contributory Pension Scheme & Gratuity on retirement.
Selection Procedure : The written test/ interview will be conducted on 8th to 11th Oct0ber 2012 in the following Cities : Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Kochi, Vishakapatnam, Gandhi Nagar, Noida, Paradip and New Mangalore. ( Addresses of the Venue is available in the pdf, Link given at the bottom)
(a) Candidates are required to appear at the Venue with the following documents :  
(i) Two copy of pre – filled online application.
(ii) Original certificate of tenth class for date of birth verification.
(iii) Original mark sheet and certificates of three year diploma.
(iv) Proof of identity such as passport, driving license, voter I card, college ID card or any other photo identity proof.
(v) Caste Certificate (if applicable) in original as per Govt of India format.
(vi) Two recent colour passport size photographs.

(b) Those who qualify written test will undergo PFT, interview and recruitment Medical Examination (Preliminary), The testing procedure will take 3-4 days.
(c) The question paper will contain questions from their respective discipline (Mechanical /Electrical/Electronics & Telecommunication) in bilingual.
(d)  The Physical Fitness Test   will be conducted for all those who pass the written test.  The PFT will consist as under : i) 1.6 Km run to be completed in 6 minutes 30 seconds. ii) 20 squat ups (Uthak Baithak)  iii) 10 Push ups. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk.                                                                                                                                                          (e) Candidates those who qualify the above tests will be required to undergo initial recruitment medical examination at the respective recruitment centre.
(f) The select list will be prepared from the candidates who qualify in all the tests depending upon the available vacancies. The All India select list of candidates will be displayed in the Indian Coast Guard Website www.indiancoastguard.nic.in  in the month of January 2013.

Training : The basic training will commence in Feb 2013 at INS Chilka followed by sea training and professional training.
Travel Expenses : SC/ST candidates, who are not employed by the Central/State Government, will be reimbursed 2nd class fare by train/ Govt bus/steamer charges by the shortest route if the home station is beyond 30 kms from the place of examination on production of ticket.

How to Apply : Candidates are required to Apply ONLINE.
Very Important : a) After submitting online application, candidates are required to print two copies of the application with number generated by the system.  Both copies of the print out of application duly signed with photograph are to be carried by the applicant to the testing centre.
b) Out of the two copies one copy enclosed with photocopies of all required documents i.e. class 10th certificate/mark sheet showing date of birth, three year diploma certificate along with mark sheet showing subjects and percentage of marks, caste certificate wherever required and NCC certificate/games certificate duly attested by the Gazetted Officer shall also be carried by the candidate and submitted at the examination centre.
c) Second copy without any enclosure is to be kept with the candidate as an identity proof during the selection procedure. Any candidate who does not carry all these documents at the time of test shall not be permitted to appear in the exam.
